Reboot your Priorities Reboot your Faith Reboot your Life In these challenging and uncertain times, we are taught to Be Still. In reviewing Psalms 46 (NJKV), importantly, we see that the point of view changes in verse 10, where the voice becomes clearly an echo from God. No longer is it written about the Lord, instead, it is written by the Lord himself, as HE directly says: “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth” Psalms 46:10 (NKJV) Experience tells us that in poetry when a pattern is broken, it forces the reader to pay attention. Something important is about to be communicated. The change of voice tells us to pay attention, then to Be Still. As we sit still, it’s time for a “when all else fails… reboot.” As we all know, we “reboot” or “hard reset” our computer when it freezes or doesn’t operate correctly, it’s time that we Ctrl Alt Del and reboot the human-computer. We need a human Ctrl Alt Del – a complete reset. We need a Ctrl Alt Del, a complete reboot of our lives, and we need it now. Reboot and set priorities. As my good friend, Bryan Sibley, MD, a solid man of God writes: “God first, family second, everything else third” The first step in our reboot is to Be Still, then reboot and make God first! With God as our priority, everything else will fall into place. Only second to God is our family. If we are not solid in our family relationships, it’s time to reconcile and reboot the relationship. As we learn in 2 Corinthians 5:17 – 21, God has made us new creatures in Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. We are “ambassadors for Christ, as though God was pleading through us; we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.” God has given HIS representatives a message of peace and of reconciliation. Are you fulfilling your commission as Christ’s ambassador? During this Ctrl Alt Del, hard reset, we need to rise up and become the ambassador we are called to be. The time for the hard reset is now. Time to set your priorities. The uncertain times have been a wake-up call for me, I hope it has been for you too. As we learn to “social distance” we need to learn to gravitate to HIM. If you need a hug and need to be close, be close and embrace Our Savior, embrace HIM. Be safe, hit the hard reset (Ctrl, Alt, Del) and start fresh, with God first.
